How to Find Your MP and MLA Details, Photo, Affidavit and Criminal Records

Every voter in India is represented by two elected leaders. Your MP (Member of Parliament) represents your Lok Sabha constituency in the national parliament, while your MLA (Member of Legislative Assembly) represents your assembly constituency in the state government. A single Lok Sabha seat usually covers several assembly constituencies, so your MP and MLA are different people elected in different elections.

This tool helps you find both of your representatives in just a few clicks, along with their official photo, party, and the affidavit they submitted to the Election Commission of India during elections. The affidavit includes their declared assets, education, and any criminal cases pending against them.

STEP 1: Select your state from the states list.

STEP 2: Choose your assembly constituency from the list that appears after selecting the state.

STEP 3: View the winning candidate's name, photo, and party details on screen.

STEP 4: Download the candidate's election affidavit PDF to check their declared assets and background.

STEP 5: Download the criminal records file to see any criminal cases declared in their affidavit.

If you are not sure which assembly constituency you belong to, you can check it on your Voter ID card or in your local electoral roll. Once you know your constituency name, just pick it from the list above to see your MLA, and the connected Lok Sabha seat will show you your MP.

Why Check Your MP and MLA's Affidavit and Criminal Records

Under Supreme Court directions, every candidate contesting an election must declare their assets, liabilities, education, and pending criminal cases in a sworn affidavit filed with the Election Commission. These affidavits are public documents, which means any voter can read them. Checking this information helps you understand the background of the person representing you and make an informed choice in the next election.
