Election Commission of India (ECI) will release the 2026 Final Roll from 14 February for 12 states. If your name has been deleted from the Voter List, 2026, there is no need to panic. Every year, the Election Commission of India updates the electoral roll to remove duplicate, shifted, or incorrect entries and to add new eligible voters.
How can you check if your name is on the final electoral roll?
If You have an EPIC Number:
- Once the final electoral roll is released by the Election Commission of India, you can easily check whether your name appears in the final voter list by searching with your EPIC number (Voter ID number) on the official voter services portal.
- Now you have to enter your 10 digit EPIC number then enter the CAPTCHA code then your details will be displayed. This will also give you a list of polling booths; select the booth you are enrolled in and look for your name.

In this case, you have to select the state and enter the registered mobile number and click on next then enter the CAPTCHA code then your details will be displayed.

- In this process, you need to select your state and enter your name, your relative’s name, and your age or date of birth.
- After submitting these details, you can check whether your name is present in the electoral roll. The system will show all matching voter ID records published by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
What can you do if your name is not on the electoral roll?
If Your Name Is Missing from the Final Voter List 2026
- If your name was in the draft voter list but is not in the final voter list, you can file an appeal.
- You must appeal within 15 days from the date the final list is published.
- The appeal should be made to the District Election Officer (DEO) (who is also the District Magistrate).
If You Are Not Satisfied with DEO’s Decision
- If you are unhappy with the DEO’s decision, you can appeal again.
- You must do this within 15 days of the DEO’s decision.
- The second appeal should be made to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of your state.
- You can:
- Submit your appeal online at voters.eci.gov.in
- Contact your Booth Level Officer (BLO)
- Contact your Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)
- Contact your DEO
- You can find the names and phone numbers of these officers at electoralsearch.eci.gov.in using your EPIC number or other details.
Apply Again Using Form 6 (Fresh Registration)
- If both appeals are rejected, but you are eligible to vote (Indian citizen, 18+ years old, and living in that constituency), you can apply again.
- Fill out Form 6 for new voter registration.

- Apply online through the ECINET portal or app
- Submit a physical Form 6 to your BLO or ERO
- In states where elections are coming soon, you can submit Form 6 up to 10 days before the last date of nomination to be included in the voter list and vote in the election.
