UP Voter List Update: ECI Appoints 8,990 AEROs for Fast Notice Hearings in Uttar Pradesh

Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed 6,948 new Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) in Uttar Pradesh to speed up the voter list verification process. This brings the total number of AEROs to 8,990, up from the previous 2,042. These officers will handle the hearing of notices for over 32 million voters whose records showed discrepancies or mapping issues during the 2003 Special Intensive Revision.

Key Highlights for Voters:

  • Notice Evidence: Voters who received notices must produce documentary evidence. If a voter cannot attend a hearing, they can appoint a representative to appear on their behalf.
  • New Applications: Citizens who turned 18 on or before January 1, 2026, should submit Form 6 to get their names included.
  • Document Rereading: Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will reread the UP draft voter list at polling stations on January 31.
  • Online Verification: You can check your name on the UP CEO Website ceouttarpradesh.nic.in or the ECI Portal using your Voter ID number.

Political parties have been asked to help voters check the draft list and ensure maximum registration via Form 6 through Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
