Election Commission of India (ECI) has appointed 6,948 new Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) in Uttar Pradesh to speed up the voter list verification process. This brings the total number of AEROs to 8,990, up from the previous 2,042. Political parties have been asked to help voters check the draft list and ensure maximum registration via Form 6 through Booth Level Agents (BLAs).
