Bihar State Election Commission has started preparations for the Bihar Panchayat Elections 2026. One important step is preparing Form-1 using data from the 2011 Census with digital methods to make it more accurate.
Due to the creation of new urban local bodies and changes in area boundaries, the reservation roster will be updated to reflect the current demography of rural areas.

Important Changes for Voters
- Digital Form-1: Demographic data for Gram Panchayats will be digitized to eliminate errors.
- Updated Roster: Reservation for Mukhiya, District Board, and Panchayat Samiti members will change based on new population data.
- Boundary Changes: Many villages recently merged into Municipalities (Nagar Nikay) will be removed from the Panchayat voter lists.
- Officer Training: Training for officials in Patna and Tirhut divisions begins April 12, followed by Magadh, Bhagalpur, and others by April 17.
