Himachal Pradesh State Election Commission has announced that elections for 3,754 panchayats will be held in three phases. Candidates can file their nominations on May 7, 8, and 11, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The nominations will be checked on May 12. Candidates can withdraw their names on May 14, and election symbols will be given on May 15.
In Himachal Pradesh, elections will be held for 3,754 posts of Pradhan and the same number of Up-Pradhan. Elections will also take place for 21,654 ward members. Additionally, there will be elections for 1,769 Panchayat Samiti members and 251 Zila Parishad members. In total, elections will be conducted for 31,182 posts. Except for four panchayats in Kullu, elections will be held in all other panchayats of Himachal Pradesh.
In these elections, 9,604 posts are reserved for women. There are 12,166 unreserved (general) posts. Overall, a total of 15,656 posts are reserved for women in the Himachal Pradesh Panchayat elections.
