United Democratic Front (UDF) party released its Manifesto 2026 for the upcoming assembly election promising a mix of welfare guarantees, economic measures and social reforms.
The Manifesto promises five ‘Indira guarantees’ and five “dream projects” focussing on maritime, aviation sectors and a Tribal University in Wayanad.

Welfare and social schemes
- Expansion of the Indira Canteen scheme across the state.
- Free travel for women in KSRTC buses.
- Monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 for college students.
- Free healthcare insurance cover up to ₹25 lakh under the “Oommen Chandy Health Insurance” scheme.
Employment and Youth Support
The UDF plans to help young people start their own businesses by offering interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh. It will also improve safety in colleges by starting a special anti-ragging program in memory of Siddharth, a student who died due to ragging at Pookode campus.
Agriculture and Labour Measures
To support farmers, the UDF promises to increase the rubber support price to ₹300 per kg. It will also raise the daily wages of ASHA workers to ₹700.
Governance and Institutional Reforms
The UDF aims to make Devaswom Boards free from corruption. It also plans to create new departments focused on peace and tolerance to promote social harmony.
For Healthcare Sector
- The Public Health Cadre will be fully implemented.
- No-bill hospitals will be established on the model of JIPMER in Pondicherry.
- Mobile chemotherapy units will be set up in Kerala.
- Mammograms will be made free for women from poor families.
