Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), the party led by actor-politician Vijay, has started sharing its election promises for the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The complete manifesto released on 16 April 2026.

TVK election promises are framed around "Secular Social Justice" and focus on women's safety, financial support, and youth development. Vijay is contesting all 234 seats solo under the "Whistle" symbol, with the Tamil Nadu election set for April 23, 2026, and results on May 4, 2026.

TVK Manifesto 2026 - Women's Promises (Magalir)

1. Separate Department for Women, Children and Senior Citizens

TVK's very first election promise is the creation of a separate government department dedicated to women, children, and senior citizens. Vijay has stated that this department will be under his direct control and supervision, with the goal of achieving uncompromising women's safety in Tamil Nadu.

2. Mathippu Mighu Magalir Scheme - ₹2,500 Monthly Grant

Under this scheme, all women who are heads of their households up to 60 years of age will receive ₹2,500 every month. The only exception is families of state and central government employees. TVK says this wider eligibility means more families will benefit compared to existing schemes by other parties.

3. Annapoorani Super Six Scheme - 6 Free Gas Cylinders

Every family will get six free cooking gas cylinders per year under this scheme. TVK has announced this as a direct relief measure for homemakers across Tamil Nadu.

4. Annan Seer Scheme - Gold and Silk Saree for Marriage

For the wedding of girls, the state government will provide eight grams (one pavun) of gold and a quality silk saree as a gift from the government. This is framed as the government stepping in as an elder brother (Annan) for every girl's marriage.

5. Kamarajar Kalvi Urudi Scheme - ₹15,000 Per Year for Education

To make sure no child from Class 1 to Class 12 drops out of school due to money problems, ₹15,000 per year will be given to every mother or guardian. This is meant to cover education-related costs and keep children in school.

6. Vettri Payanam Scheme - Free Bus Travel for Women

All women will be able to travel free of charge on all government buses across Tamil Nadu, including inter-district travel. TVK has also promised to make sure women do not have to wait long for buses.

7. Zero Tolerance for Crimes Against Women

TVK has promised to create a state where crimes against women are simply not tolerated. A special women's force called "Rani Velu Nachiyar Padai" will be set up, with women officers in plain clothes carrying body cameras. A total of 500 such teams will be deployed across the state for women's safety.

8. Anjalai Ammal Fast Track Women's Courts

Special fast track courts named "Anjalai Ammal Athiviraiva Penn Neethi Manrangal" will be set up to handle cases of crimes against women quickly. These courts will make sure no case is left pending and verdicts are delivered fast.

9. Zero Dark Spots

Panic buttons will be installed in all public transport vehicles, including private share autos, connected to a 24/7 central command centre. A response is promised within five minutes of any alert. TVK also plans to eliminate all dark spots in the state by making sure every area has CCTV cameras, lights, and proper surveillance. State-of-the-art command centres will monitor CCTV networks and handle emergencies in real time.

10. Free Sanitary Pads

Free sanitary pads will be distributed to all women through ration shops, schools, and colleges across Tamil Nadu.

11. Singap Pengal Mempadu Scheme - Support for Self-Help Groups

Women-run self-help groups will get interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh, and their existing loans will be cleared. Those self-help groups that grow into registered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will receive ₹5 lakh per year as a 100% grant from the government.

12. Thaymaman Thanga Mothiram Scheme - Gold Ring for Newborns

Every child born in Tamil Nadu will receive a gold ring as a blessing from the government. Along with this, a "Baby Welcome Kit" will also be given, which includes nutritious food items, baby clothes, baby soap, baby oil, baby powder, mosquito nets, toys, napkins, and diapers.

TVK Manifesto 2026 - Youth Promises (Ilaigyargal)

1. Drug-Free Tamil Nadu

TVK has promised to turn Tamil Nadu into a drug-free state through strict laws, community policing, and setting up anti-drug forums in schools and colleges across the state.

2. Kalvi Utharavatham Scheme - Education Loan up to ₹20 Lakh

To make sure financial problems do not stop young people from getting an education, TVK will provide collateral-free loans of up to ₹20 lakh for studies from Class 12 all the way up to a Ph.D.

3. Tamil Nadu Recruitment Accountability and Transparency Act

A law will be passed to make sure all Tamil Nadu government job recruitment cycles are completed within 365 days. This is meant to stop the long delays in government hiring that have frustrated youth for years.

4. Employment Delay Support Fund - ₹4,000 and ₹2,500 Monthly

Graduates who are still looking for a job will receive ₹4,000 per month, and diploma holders will receive ₹2,500 per month as youth welfare support while they search for employment.

5. Vettri Thozhil Payirchi Utharavatham - Paid Internships for 5 Lakh Youth

Every year, 5 lakh young people will be given paid internships in private companies. Graduates will receive ₹10,000 per month and ITI or diploma holders will receive ₹8,000 per month, with the state government paying these amounts directly.

6. Vettri Thozhil Munaivor Scheme - Business Loan up to ₹25 Lakh

To help young people start their own businesses, the government will guarantee collateral-free business loans of up to ₹25 lakh for youth who want to become entrepreneurs.

7. Namadhu Oorul Namakke Vela Scheme - 75% Local Jobs

Private companies that hire at least 75% of their workforce from Tamil Nadu will get a 2.5% subsidy on state GST (SGST) and a 5% subsidy on electricity bills. These companies will also be given priority in government procurement contracts.

8. Youth in Governance - 5 Lakh Jobs at ₹18,000/Month

A post called "Mudhavar Makkal Seva Nanban" will be created in every gram panchayat and urban local body. Through this, 5 lakh young people will be given jobs at a salary of ₹18,000 per month. The goal is to make sure 100% of government services reach people at their doorstep.

9. Tamil Nadu Youth Advisory Council

A "Tamil Nadu Youth Advisory Council" will be set up as a platform for young people to directly share their ideas and suggestions with the government. TVK claims Tamil Nadu will be the first state in India to set up such a council.

10. Padaipali Thozhilmunaivor Scheme - 500 Creator Schools

To turn Tamil Nadu into a global hub for creative talent, 500 "Creatorpreneur Schools" will be set up to give modern training to youth. Under this scheme, starting funds will be provided to 1.5 lakh creative entrepreneurs.
