Maharashtra State Election Commission has revised the schedule for the general elections of 12 Zilla Parishads and 125 Panchayat Samitis across the state. The original notification for these elections was issued on January 16, 2026.
The decision to change the election dates was taken following the three-day state mourning declared due to the demise of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. As per the revised schedule, polling, which was earlier fixed for February 5, 2026, will now be conducted on February 7, 2026. The counting of votes has also been postponed and will take place on February 9, 2026.

Elections will be held for Zilla Parishads in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts of the Konkan region. Polling will also take place in Pune, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Kolhapur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Parbhani, Latur and Dharashiv districts.
