Women Welfare Promises in DMK Manifesto 2026

Women are clearly at center of this manifesto. One of biggest promises is increase in Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai from ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per month. This is likely to become one of most discussed election promises in Tamil Nadu.

Another major promise is Illatharasi scheme. Under this, eligible homemakers from non income tax paying families are proposed to get an ₹8,000 coupon to buy or replace home appliances such as fridge, mixer, grinder, washing machine, TV, oven, microwave, or induction stove. This promise is aimed at easing household spending and giving women more choice.

Manifesto also says women self help group members will get bank loan support up to ₹5 lakh without collateral, along with subsidy support. This part is important for women who run small businesses, local shops, food units, tailoring work, or other self employment activities.

Education and Student Support Promises

Education is another major part of DMK Manifesto 2026. Chief Minister’s Breakfast Scheme is proposed to be expanded up to Class 8, which means more school children would be covered if promise is implemented.

For higher education students, monthly support under Pudhumai Penn and Tamil Pudhalvan is proposed to increase to ₹1,500. This can help students with travel, books, exam fees, and small study related expenses.

Another big promise is free laptops for 35 lakh college students over five years. This point may get strong attention from students and parents because laptop support can help with online classes, assignments, exams, project work, skill learning, and job preparation.

Pension, Disability Support and Social Welfare

Manifesto promises a higher pension for senior citizens. Old age pension is proposed to rise to ₹2,000 per month. This can matter a lot for poor and lower income families that depend on pension support for monthly expenses.

Support for persons with disabilities has also been raised in manifesto promises. Reports on March 29 said disability assistance is proposed to go up to ₹2,500 per month, and maintenance allowance for severely affected persons has also been proposed at a higher level. This is one of the key social welfare points in document.

Overall, manifesto tries to show a wider welfare push for women, elderly persons, persons with disabilities, and families that need regular monthly support.

Health and Family Support Promises

Healthcare is another strong section in DMK Manifesto 2026. Party has promised to raise health insurance coverage under Chief Minister’s health scheme up to ₹10 lakh. Income ceiling is also proposed to increase, which means more families may come under coverage if promise is implemented.

Manifesto also talks about increasing dialysis facilities in government hospitals. This matters for kidney patients and families who spend a lot on regular treatment. Better access in government hospitals can reduce pressure on private treatment costs.

For families, this health section is one of most important parts because hospital expenses often hit poor and middle class homes badly. That is why this promise may become a major talking point during campaign.

Housing and Basic Infrastructure Promises

DMK has promised construction of 10 lakh new houses over five years. This is a major housing promise and is likely to be watched closely by low income families, urban poor, and people living in weak or incomplete houses.

Manifesto also mentions more public buses, future ready city development, and public service delivery improvements. These points show that party is trying to balance welfare promises with visible infrastructure announcements.

Housing promise in particular can attract voters because a permanent house is still one of biggest needs for many families in Tamil Nadu.

Farmer Promises in DMK Manifesto 2026

Farmers have been promised continued support under free electricity related measures. Manifesto says modern meter free electric pump sets would be given to farmers already getting free power benefits. This promise is linked with irrigation and farming cost reduction.

Crop procurement prices have also been raised in party promises. Paddy procurement price is proposed at ₹3,500 per quintal, while sugarcane procurement price is proposed at ₹4,500 per tonne. These two points are likely to be important in rural campaign discussions.

For farming families, better procurement price directly affects income expectations. That is why these promises may matter more than many headline political lines during village level campaigning.

Jobs, Investment and Youth Focus

Manifesto also talks about job creation and youth support. Party has promised to attract large investments and create 50 lakh jobs over five years. Along with this, skill training for youth and stipend support under Naan Mudhalvan have also been highlighted.

Government job vacancies are also part of discussion around manifesto. This matters for lakhs of young people in Tamil Nadu who are preparing for competitive exams and waiting for recruitment updates.

When combined with laptop support, student stipend, and skill training, this section is clearly aimed at first time voters, college youth, and job seekers.

State Rights, NEET and Policy Stand

DMK has again kept focus on state rights in its election messaging. Based on current reporting around manifesto coverage, party has continued its stand on education policy issues and has also repeated its broader political line on Union and State powers.

At same time, many readers will look at complete PDF to check how strongly issues like NEET, education control, and tax sharing have been presented in final manifesto document. Since these points matter a lot in Tamil Nadu politics, they may continue to shape campaign speeches in coming days.
