Election Commission of India (ECI) has put a list on its website. This list has the names of voters who may have mistakes in their details. This was done after an order from the Supreme Court.
An ECI official said that the list includes voters whose details do not match old voter records from 2002. Some problems are wrong parent names or a very small or very big age gap between a voter and their parent.
How to Check Your Name in SIR Logical Discrepancy List Online?
You cannot download the SIR Logical Discrepancy List by yourself from the website voter.eci.gov.in. The website does not give a direct download option for the public.
Instead, the District Election Officers will download this list. They are the official officers who handle voter records in each district.
After downloading the list, these officers will print it and display it in public places. This is done so that everyone can check their name easily without using the internet.
The list will be put up at:
- Gram Panchayat Bhavans
- Block offices
- Ward offices in towns and cities
You can visit these places during working hours and check the list for your name. If you find your name on the list, it only means there may be a small mistake in your voter details.
If you have any problem or doubt, you can talk to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) or the staff at the office. They will tell you what documents are needed to correct the details.
